A LIFE OF PURPOSE

A LIFE OF PURPOSE

A life of purpose

A life of purpose is a life of meaning and direction. What I have learned is many times our purpose changes. You may have experienced times of uncertainty and searched for clarity. When my mother passed away about 5 years ago, I recognized my purpose had changed and will likely change again. When my dad passed I felt a calling to help my mom. Mostly being there more to ensure her abilities to take care of herself with some outside help. Thus, she could remain in her home of 50 years. Up until Christmas of 2019 when she became hospitalized and wasn’t able to go back home. There was so much more responsibility as her days were coming to an end. What I learned is my purpose wasn’t related to what I did for making a living, but how I would use my compassion to be of help to others.

My awareness to one’s purpose included self care, my spiritual well being as well as my responsibilities at work and my financial obligations.  We play many roles in our life and must know what they are and the values we hold close to our heart. A life of purpose means many things and they can and do change. They change when you have children, change career directions, take care of aging parents, preparing for our retirement.

As seasons change and they do so will you.

If you are living according to your values and know what matters most I applaud you. However, if you still not sure, or feel something missing from your life than it’s time to take inventory and explore how you are spending your time and if you’re happy.
Remember : Have you considered what it means to serve God? We honor God through serving others with enthusiasm. Being meticulous in everything you do, because you are doing the Lords work. We shouldn’t do anything that God has given you to do in this life with mediocrity. God blessed each one of us with our own uniqueness, a talent, a skill which we earn a living. And with our talents, we possess the skill to serve each other as God has commanded us to do.
Do not be lazy but always work hard. Work for the Lord with a heart full of love for Him. Be happy in your hope. Do not give up when trouble comes. Do not let anything stop you from praying.   Romans 12:11-12 (NLV)
Father, I am thankful for the opportunities you have blessed me with. And the people who you have help me succeed and prosper in my life. Help me to serve others so I may be a blessing to them and they would see your compassion thorough me. It is my fervent hope to bless others in the same way you have blessed me, in Jesus name, Amen…
