Does your desires align with your purpose

Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Psalm 37:4 (NIV)

Searching for your purpose can be overwhelming and terrifying. You might ask, “What if my desires don’t come to light?”

Well let me tell you this, my friend. God cares more about what’s in your heart. So, think of it like this. Do your desires align with God’s purpose for you? How do you know for sure? What do you enjoy doing more than anything?

Get to know God better, through prayer, scripture, and meditation. Seek Him with all your heart. Do not lean on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5 (NKJV)

Know what pleases God and what God detests.

God’s grace is good for today

Jesus said to His followers, “Because of this, I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you are going to eat. Do not worry about your body, what you are going to wear.”
Luke 12:22 (NLV)

God’s grace is good for today. We really don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow. Now, while it’s fine to plan ahead, today is today and we should live to the fullest every moment of every day.

Therefore, our hope is with the Lord. He will supply us with our needs every day, one day at a time. When I was younger, starting out as a contractor running my own business, I was obsessed with planning, worrying, and always thinking of tomorrow. Well, tomorrow came again and again, but I missed many todays.

How about you? Are you hoping for a better tomorrow or are you living today?
