Do Not Be Discouraged

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
Joshua 1:9 (NLT)

When frustrated, angry, and tired, we often become consumed with anxiety and feel threatened. Acknowledge your weakness and say, “Jesus help me.”
Do not be DiscouragedLet go of your will and ask the Lord for His will to be done, that your actions and words would be pleasing to Him.

God is the source of all strength, hope, and love.
Have you read how Joshua brought the Israelites into the promised land?

How will you be more courageous like Joshua?

Sometimes I have to tell myself, ” do not be discouraged” but why. I have so much to be thankful for.

I suppose when things don’t go as I hoped they would, I need to find my compass and see if I am on track.

Not being on the course is discouraging. Imagine being out in a big boat, you lose sight of the shore line. You  wonder how did I end up here, how do I get back on course. The clouds seem to thicken, rain is coming  soon, the boat starts to rock as the waves crash upon the hull. What if I can’t find my way back to shore. Do not panic, pray for God’s protection. The first thing seamen would do is to anchor with the bow facing the direction the waves are coming at you. That’s right, anchor yourself right where you are despite the storms facing you.

Do not be Discouraged by the storms in your life

Do not be Discouraged

When I become discouraged and begin to panic, my head just can’t grasp what I am supposed to do next. In the meantime, do I hide in survivor mode, fight or flight. Everything I do seems to just keep me from moving forward in the right direction. I pray for Gods guidance, His discernment so I may have eyes to see and ears to hear, yet I feel lost at sea.

Does this sound familiar to you? Have you felt lost, discouraged, hopeless? How do you get through these storms in your life?

Our distractions and our thoughts can lead us off course where we may feel alone in the biggest storms of our life. As soon as things don’t feel right, look around you, do you see rough waters, grey skies all around you. If so you must immediately anchor yourself in the Lord.

I invite you to take a look inside your vessel, ask God to help you along the course He has set forth for you and allow you to pull up anchor and safely move forward with confidence. Friends I encourage you right now to pick up your anchor and get your copy of the Becoming Anchored Devotional. Inside you will find a weekly devotional and journal prompts to gather your thoughts and prayers. This will help you as you Become Anchored in the Lord. Become Anchored in the Lord

Pray with me

Father in heaven, when I feel discouraged, lost and all things seem hopeless, I pray you would be with me as you hath said you would never leave me or forsake. I need you and love you. Please help me get back on course, to be strong and courageous like Joshua who led the Israelites into the promise land. Let your peace comfort us and the Holy Spirit be my guide back to you, in Jesus name, Amen…
