Becoming Anchored Devotional – Week 2

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. James 1:12 (NIV)

Too often when adversity strikes, we tend to feel uncertain, hopeless, and powerless. When we discover the power of letting go and letting God into every aspect of our lives, blessings begin to follow.

Many of us know that life can be stressful if we let it. There are ways to relieve that stress through self-care. Taking a walk, a hobby, talking with a friend are a few ways to destress. When we step back for a minute, we may gain a new perspective. For myself, prayer helps me regain my focus on what truly matters most in my life at the moment.

See what works for you.

Becoming Anchored Devotional – Week 1

We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are. Acts 15:11 (NIV)

Sometimes I listen to inspirational and motivational audiobooks. The author is usually engaging and knows how to grab attention. I find these books challenge my thoughts and inspire new ideas and thought patterns. I find this helpful when I want to learn more about what interests me and aligns with God’s purposes.

The same holds true when reading Scripture. It is inspiring and we learn how others have gone through everything we do, and how God’s grace has been a lifeline to many, which gives us hope.
