The Peace of God

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Jesus Christ. Philippians 4:7 (NIV)

Peace of God

Our minds are always working, thinking, contemplating our next move. Our next goal. Or maybe something troubling you. Jesus says to seek Him, and all these things will be added upon you. (Matthew 6:33) Yet, what we really need is the peace of God. Stop the racing thoughts and contemplating your strategy. Give all your anxious thoughts to God who care about you. (1 Peter 5:7)

Letting Go

If you want the peace of God, you need to let go and trust in Him who works all things together to the good. (Romans 8:28) We carry too much on our shoulders. Work, school, family, a social life, hobbies, maybe a new venture, financial condition. What we’re going to do about retirement. Wait, retire, not likely! But when you truly give it all to God He will go to work. With God all things are possible (Mark 9:23). Doing so will inherently help you feel like a huge wight was lifted off your shoulders and will feel the peace of God transcend upon you.

Eighteen-Wheel Car Hauler

My mother, Irene, told me of a time when her and my dad were on their way home, when suddenly a car came unchained from an eighteen-wheel car hauler. I have heard of this happening before and hate driving anywhere near them. Admittedly my mom acted fast. That’s right she prayed. At that very moment God took the steering wheel and got my mom and Dad safely off the freeway. She said she had never felt such at peace as she did then when she let go and let God take over.

The Peace of God

We don’t always know what’s going to happen, but when we surrender to God, He will protect us and comfort us because He loves you. I encourage you today to get to know God. I mean really get to know Him. Pray to Him, study His word through a Bible study plan, and take notes. Listen or read devotionals. Let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. (Romans 12:2)

Pray with me:

Father in Heaven, I invite you into all areas of my life. I want to get to know you better and become more like you. I pray for you wisdom to be my guide and that the Holy Spirit would give me discernment and understanding. Thank you for the many blessings you have showered upon me and my family. Dear Lord, thank you for your protection, your strength and you unconditional love, in Jesus name, Amen…

When has God been there for you when you earnestly seek Him?

Have you ever felt the peace only God offers that transcends all human understanding?
