Who is Jesus

Who is Jesus

When we think of Jesus, most Christians would say Jesus is the Messiah or the Son of God. So, who is Jesus? His character is written in the Gospel of Mark, Matthew, Luke, and John. Jesus’ character is defined as Love. Therefore, what is love?

What is Love

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful, or proud. Or rude.it does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices when justice whenever the truth comes out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. 1 Corinthians 13:4–7 (NLT)

During Jesus ministry He taught what love is, and even more revealing was His character encompassed love. Showing compassion, kindness to everyone. Healing the blind, the deaf, and the sick. He didn’t ask them if they were believers, about their faith. Because of His love for humanity.

When asked what the greatest commandment was, Je

sus responded. Love God with all your heart and all your soul, and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandant. And the second, equally as important, “love thy neighbor as yourself” The entire law and demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments. Matthew 22: 37–40 (NLT)

Beyond the healing of the sick. Jesus blessed others serving them, especially the poor and oppressed. He performed miracles, fed thousands of people, and to today has more followers throughout His Kingdom than any other.

One of the greatest gifts we have from Jesus is the gift of love. To love others and accept love. Because we first Loved Him.

SPIRITUAL GIFTS

The Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Galatians 5: 22–23 (NLT)

God has given each of you a gift from His great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them wisely to serve one another. 1 Peter 4:10 (NLT)

Throughout the scriptures there are plentiful passages on spiritual gifts. Have you ever taken a spiritual assessment?

Ask your Church for one or search online, there are plenty of resources. Ask God to guide you for His grace as you complete the assessment, and to give you discernment of His purpose for you.

Additional scripture to help guide you

In His grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. Romans 6:6 (NLT)

Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the Church, the Apostles, the Prophets, the Evangelists, the Pastors, and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do His work and build up the Church, the body of Christ. This will continue until we come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. Ephesians 4: 11–13 (NLT)

A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other. 1 Corinthians 12:7 (NLT)
